Assalamualaikum and hello 🍀
how is everyone? I pray whoever is reading this is in a good state, mentally, physically & spiritually, amiiiin 😊
so whoever followed me on instagram will know that I did a poll in my ig story regarding a topic that I am going to touch in this post.
from the results so far, of course, most people voted for 'accept wholeheartedly,' even I think I am able to accept it wholeheartedly. but is that really the case?
first, I'm going to touch on appreciating someone's effort in trying to make us cheer up when we're down.
okay, let me give a situation so you guys can get the picture.
situation 1;
so we feel down in the dumps lately, we feel like we are depressed, things aren't going well with so many work piled up and all, so we let it out to our closest friend about it, hoping to get some encouragement from them. and at the same time, we tweeted or made a status about it.
so our friend gave us some encouragements, which made us feel a whole lot better-- of course, it's because it's from our own closest friend that we were able to accept it. we thank them with our whole heart.
but then, someone replied to your tweet. yikes. it's someone you're not very fond of, but they're giving us words of encouragement. you replied and said thanks to them. but at the very bottom of our hearts, were we able to accept it wholeheartedly? did it make us feel better?
you see, in this case, I understand receiving such words from people that matters will do wonders in cheering us up. but what if a random stranger or someone we despise gave such words? it may not be as effective but how often do we appreciate these little kind gestures they took seconds, heck, minutes to do just for us to cheer up?
just by knowing that, I think that alone will be able to cheer us up, in whatever situation we are in. learn to accept it and cherish it. sure, we don't know their true intentions, they might be honest in trying to cheer us up or not, but knowing that somebody actually reaches out for us all of a sudden in our dark times is reassuring enough. so how about we put away whatever personal problems we have and appreciate it?
(( I'm sorry but little things like this matters so much to me and I think too much about it, therefore please acknowledge it ))
and one more thing that got me thinking,
why is it so hard for us to accept an advice or a 'teguran?'
sure, it's not what we want to hear.
sure, to us it's probably harsh, heck, we are triggered by it.
but can we just not look at the negative side of it?
take the advice and reflect on it.
sure, it's probably easy to take it from our own friend or family. but is it easy to get such advice from a prefect? someone younger than us? or older?
and the worse thing we can do is lash back and attack them, and point out their negativities.
can we just tone down our ego for a sec? in what way are we sooo superior than them?
(( sorry I seem emo at the moment 😂 ))
so in the end, it's us, ourselves that needs to do some reflecting. yes, we're only human. but being human doesn't mean it serves as a green light for us to be bitter and salty about everything.
okay, self note as well, husna ☝
so since you guys are aware of this, let us all changeeeee for the better 😊
insyaAllah we can do it!
"most of the time we're too focused on chasing the sun rise, we failed to notice the beauty of the night sky. and when we realised how beautiful the night sky was, it is already too late." i love this quotation a lot. because it's just like how we always eager for the future, we forgot to cherish our present. and when the present become the past, the only thing left is regret. learn from the past. it's not just about the future, it's about your present too. what path you're taking right now, what options you decided on, what flaws of the present you need to fix. cherish your present so that in the future when you look back, you won't feel any regret but instead you'd feel thankful 😊 the people you're with right now, the moments you are deep diving into right now; cherish all that properly, avoid bad decisions that leads to bad consequences, maintain yourself on the right path, give the people around you right now the right amount of a proper conveyance of endearance and affection, live in your present to the fullest & you won't grow to regret it later on. and with your present straightened up, you'll have a bright future waiting ahead of you, insyaAllah 🌹
i love my solitude, but i think this is just something i say to lie to myself, dont get me wrong, i enjoy being alone but not for long because then i'll feel lonely. being lonely is nOT fun at all. or maybe, i just dont like carrying expectations alone?
carrying expectations that were put on to you does get quite tiring. to play the jester, to always be there listening to when you deal with other problems of your own, you empathize, and try to give them ideas of how to rid themselves of the emotion of sadness when truly you only have a temporary answer. while the parents expect you to be the president and have the best grades, yelling at you if you failed in a test, or just plain ignoring you, calling you only for chores and to deal with their problems.
but we all have to do things we dont wish to do, no matter what you feel, the expectations that other people place on you are the trust they give you, even if they dont show the trust to you, you can always find it by looking deeper for the truth, expectations are truly what give motives. ☺ at least, this is what i think. i dont have it set in mind, yet.
"when one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us." - alexander graham bell
all of us at one point in life will wonder what will happen if we could just turn back time, even i do.
those failures, carelessness, the words that didnt come out loud, chances that was left wasted and the fight that was given up half way... if i could turn back time then maybe... just maybe... then i'll start thinking; but turning back time does not mean that everything would be better this time. and if i could change the past, would all the achievements and sweet memories that came with it also disappears?
close those thoughts of ours and start moving forward. every ending is a new beginning of something new! Allah created our journey perfectly & nothing would happen without His wills. just have faith in Him. eventually, if you try hard enough, the future might be bright for you 😊 i know one thing though; all of these memories, regret, contentment are what molds me into the person i am now. the person who is trying her best to become a better her, for her own good & for the goodness of Allah. and that alone, is enough to make my life worthwhile...
you're special. it doesn't matter if you think you're not or if you think you're just here to fill someone's time or you're here to shake the boredom out of someone or you're just here to help someone. by doing those things, it makes you special already. your existence, your presence, means a lot to tonsss of people, and out of all those people; to me. who knows, that one time you smiled and laughed wholeheartedly, you just made me believe that there are still things in this world worth smiling about. that one time, you encouraged me this & that, you made me believe that there are still people out there worth protecting, worth trusting, worth my time. who knows, that one time you tell me all your worries, and your thoughts, you made me believe that im needed too. who knows, maybe someone saw you eating alone in that restaurant, it made them remember about their dad eating alone at home, and just like that, you made them want to go and meet their dad. who knows, maybe there's a time someone saw you answering your exam sheets with full of passion, and it encouraged and them fired up to ace that exam. even these little things, it matters, hun. it makes a big impact in a person's life. the universe would be an impossibly different place without you, without a single of you, im serious. so, dont ever think that youre worthless or nothing because you, yourself is truly special.
sometimes we all accidentally take someone for granted without even realising; believe me, i do sometimes too.
here's a question: if they were to die tomorrow, would you be satisfied or happy of your last memory with them?
i think life is all about giving, without expecting to get something back but sometimes our minds warp us with the thought that we deserve better than being underappreaciated. so a question always pop in my head: so is it important to love or to be loved?
i believe it takes two to tango. any form of companionship, whether it is family, friendship or relationship needs both of the parties to make it work. no matter how much one party tries, is there a point if the corresponding party has no intention to return? it wont work.
so i urge you all to appreciate our friends, people who are there for us whatever the weather. thank our parents for giving us unconditional love, we owe them more than we can ever repay. they need you to make it work, to make it last, to make the journey together worth it without any regrets. so make a change 😊✨
this morning, my lecturer shared with the class that she once asked, "does Allah loves me?" and then she said that she received the most satisfying answer from her friend. she said, "why would you ask that? even though in the Quran it is already stated that Allah is The Most Merciful." 😌✨
.
hence, my lecturer explained how love towards Allah isn't one-sided. say for instance, in order for two people to love each other they have to accept each other right? so it's the same for our love towards Allah and Allah's love towards us, we need to redha with Allah and Allah will redha with us. if we love Allah, Allah will surely love us back.
and whenever we think about Allah, even for just a second, He will surely remember. and who are we to not even sit and remember about Allah, the One who takes care of us all this while in this world? so let us all thank Allah for all the blessings He poured onto us and how beautiful his plans are 😊🌠 let's feed our souls guys! salam jumaat!
nothing is absolute. we can never be sure if our choices, decisions or actions are beneficial or the right thing to do or not .
🎀 but never ever lose faith in Allah 🎀
that's right. we're only ordinary human beings. we don't have an ability or a magical power to know the future or what we're doing is good or bad for us or not.
but He knows.
He knows what's good for us and what is not.
so we have to set a mindset that everything that happens to us has its 'hikmah.' we have to decide and act with a heart relying in Allah.
so, all that's left to do is to do our absolute best 😊
and with great effort, slowly but surely, we can find the 'hikmah' we're looking for 🍒❤
helloooo and Assalamualaikum 😊
it's been a while since my last post hehe
I've been busy with college stuff and all so I didn't really have time to think about blogging.
there is a topic that I've been thinking about and been meaning to bring to light lately: appreciation.
yes, we're all craving for someone to appreciate us and acknowledge what we do or did for them. but have we ever take time and stop to think about what we have done for them to show our appreciation to them?
so why not instead of sitting around waiting for someone to give you a pedestal, why not at least try to cherish people around you?
how? it can be done in many forms.
a) show simple but meaningful gestures.
-- you have no idea how a simple 'thank you' can mean so much to someone. buy gifts. let them know you miss them or that you thought about them. share songs with them or show a funny video with them. I am sure they will feel valued knowing how much they are worth in your life.
b) take the time to know about them
-- find about their hobbies, interests, dreams, hopes, their views on life and share intellectual conversations with each other. if you trust each other, you can tell about your problems and they will tell you about theirs, and you can give advices to each other. let them know that you are always there for them and I am sure that they will appreciate it :)
there are more you can do and you can experiment it with people around you too :D it's pretty common & easy to do, insyaAllah ✨
second of all, besides from appreciating people, how about the small things in your life?
what if you slow down for a while and cherish whatever is around you?
I actually have one (1) regret.... (jk)
so I used to live in the uk and I remember being aware that whenever we drive at a highway, the view there is breathtaking, very different from malaysia. and I wasn't really blown away about it at that time because I never thought that I would miss that view now and I regret sooo much for not cherishing it properly.
so now that I've grown up, and learnt a lot of things, I'm trying to always take time to cherish anything;
maybe the flowers that are starting to grow on trees in college,
some little free time that I have before I have classes tomorrow,
the group assignment that my friends helped out with that I couldn't help finish because of a few reasons,
a day out with someone you talk to online but never met irl,
car rides full of laughter with my family...
and lots more. there are just so so much to cherish and putting aside our chaotic, busy lives for a while, learn to sit back and relax and just.... find something to be grateful of, you know? you will find that it makes you feel good and you can just grow some positive vibes from it too 🍃
and last of all,
never forget to appreciate yourself.
you are probably juggling many different work at a time, and you're probably tired of trying to show genuine warmth to others and are eager to feel appreciated yourself? of course, everyone does. you do know that you can do this yourself, right?
okay so I know how lots of people criticize themselves right? (I do too lol) like, you're always blaming yourself and stuff.
think about it. would you treat your best friend like that? no right? you will always trying to show them love and appreciate them right? so why not practice this for yourself too? go easy on yourself, darling.
one other way you can appreciate yourself is to reward yourself.
it doesn't have to be something extravagant pun lewls just something little that makes you happy is already fine like your favourite flavoured ice cream or having a movie night after you've finished your work hehehe reward yourself from time to time. you deserve ittttt :D
and last of all, drop whatever conditions that you put for yourself in order to love yourself more. stop thinking 'I'll love myself more if I am...' blablabla nonsenseeeeeeee. embraceeeee thyselffff huntyyyyyyy. (I am actually v sleepy right now please bear with my weirdness)
so to sum up, this is what I've been thinking about lately. there are probably a lot more I want to say but I can't just put it into words hehe husna y u like dis
okay that's all from meeeeee. thank you for reading all the way to the bottom, I love youuu 💖💖
till next time folks!
